High Temperature Applications – Steam, Hot Oil, and Thermal Fluid Hoses
Many industrial applications process high temperature media that can damage normal elastomeric materials. Vector Hose realizes that steam, hot oil, and thermal fluid have unique hose requirements. Our Steam Hose is rated for saturated steam to +200°C (+392°F) and is with an EPDM inner tube with a textile and steel wire braids reinforcement and red or black EPDM cover resistant to collapsing. For Hot Oil Transfer, use our High Temp Hydraulic Hose or Hot Oil Resistant Hose constructed with NBR or FKM tube compounds. In chemical plants Streamline EPDM Hose is used for hot water and dilute acids.
For temperatures extremes from -54°C to +204°C our PTFE Hose (SAE 100 R14) with SS304/SS316 braid is almost universal. Vector Hose also offers Low Temp Hose – perfect for Yukon and Antarctic conditions (-40°C and colder) Our rubber compounds retain flexibility and will not crack.
When choosing High Temperature Hose, you should consider not just the fluid temperature but the ambient temperature (heat radiation of neighboring machines). For steam cleaning applications you can add high-temperatures covers to our Jet Wash Hose. Account for thermal expansion – hoses can lengthen by as much as 2% when heated. Use the suitable Hose Fittings with high temperature resistant seals.
